- Author Biography: Dr. Lee Salk, Clinical Professor of Psychology and Pediatrics, Cornell University Medical College, is the Director of the Division of Pediatric Psychology of the New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. In his extensive practice, he helps children, adolescents, and parents recognize and treat problems -- some of them serious, some of them normal, everyday occurrences that parents fear are more serious than they turn out to be.
Dr. Salk received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, was on the staff in the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University, and became Chief Psychologist on the Child Psychiatry Service at The New York Hospital before accepting his current position. He is the co-author of How to Raise a Human Being.
Dr. Salk and his wife, son, and daughter live in New York City and on Sandbar Island, Moosehead Lake, Maine. He has two older brothers, Dr. Jonas Salk and Dr. Herman Salk.
