Author Biography: Kazuo Ishiguro was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954 and moved to Britain in 1960. He earned his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Kent at Canterbury and his Master's Degree at the University of East Anglia. He now lives in London with his wife and daughter.

He was awarded the Booker Prize in 1989 for The Remains of the Day and received the Whitbread Prize in 1986 for An Artist of the Floating World. In 1995 he received The Order of the British Empire for service to literature, and in 1998 was named a Chevalier de l
