The story of this volume revolves around the characters in old town. I had once read from a fellow fan that the books involving these characters tended to be weaker, and I can see what he had meant. The artwork in the novel is still quite fun to look at but the story itself holds a little less ground than the less. There seems to be little to know character development, which can be somewhat excusable because many of the characters were in the past volumes of the series but truthfully I feel that this point in the series we be a good time to be really building on characters rather than just taking predefined people and setting them out to hack each other to bits. It seems a reoccurring theme is starting to seep through in these books and I for one wonder how far miler is going to be able to take it. He puts out these characters that feel they need to somehow prove to the world and themselves that they have something worth living for and fighting for, even dying for. Although that is all good, the lack of character development fails to provider readers with any insight into the main character's motivation. We know he is willing to risk life and limb but not exactly sure why.
