New photos just in. No doubt of it: We have active convection on Pluto - with nitrogen ice acting in much the same manner as water ice on Saturn's Europa, and as convecting rock behaves on Earth.

Indeed, the discoveries New Horizons has been making may well force scientists to rethink their models of planetary development and the evolution of the Solar System. What comes out of it could very well be interesting in and of itself. But that's one of the major things that I like about science: the chance to learn new things that might previously never even have been thought possible! 8)
