True - One of those families where the generations seem to merge. (Mine is like that, too.)

Well, I for one think GG and Kvetch look adorable. Is Kvetch still tall for his age? And voralfred looks very studious and professorly (yes, that's word). :D

Haha, you can't be shorter than my girlfriend, there's nothing to compare her to in the pic, but, she's probably shorter than you.

No, I'm not. I'm medium tending to short.

Sorry for giving the wrong impression!

Probably because of all the equipment around me. To my right was just an old-fashioned overhead projector, no idea what was on my left but I probably did not even use it
(it looks like a computer, but that was years ago, PowerPoint was not yet so popular, maybe it was there for the most "up-to-date" speakers)

In fact I am not at all a professor, I have a pure research position, I never teach students. Once or twice a year (3 times in 2005 but that was exceptional) I attend a conference where I typically give a 40 minutes talk. So that was a very rare moment that was immortalized

Laurie, my mother was shorter than you are, even before old age made her "shrink" even more. Her ID (which reproduced the preceding one, etc, etc, they certainly did not re-measure her each time, so that is her height when she was still middle-aged) says 1.47 meters, and 4'11" is more than 1.48, almost 1.49 meters, right?
You are alos probably taller than Miles Vorkosigan:

If the "something" was less than one inch, he would not have "ahemmed-mumbled" so much.

Yes, yes you are :P

I am still as cute (of course...) and, even though no one asked, I'm also now 5'4 (Just so no one thinks I'm some sort of hobbit...)

I think what she was trying to imply was that you looked "scholarly" :) Which is pretty much what you are :) It's not a wrong impression at all... it doesn't mean we feel you've misled us ;)

Geez, I feel better, after reading Mister laurie is only 4'11". I am 5' 3" and feel postively tall now!

We don't think you misled us, voralfred. Lied and deceived for nefarious purposes, perhaps, but not misled.

My first BF was 6' 4" - his fraternity brothers made bets on whether he would still be taller than me if he knelt down.

He was.

I'm 5'7" in high school right now, and as a guy, that's pretty short especially around folks 6' and up. I can't complain, though. It used to be a lot worse.

How old is the Biscuit Eater? Her picture reminds me of some of the pictures of my youngest great granddaughter, who will be 4 (I think) this month. I think that the Biscuit Eater is younger, but since I only know Morgan from her pictures, it's hard to separate her ages in my mind.
