I feel like I'm in the movie Battle of the Scorpions, we usually find 5 to 10 scorpions in the house between May and September. We found over ten just in the last week, and my wife got stung on her foot last week.

Scorpions suck! My sister always had that problem in her room. I have a problem with centipedes for some reason (at least we only had one or the other...).

How bad are your Arizona scorpions? Did she have to be taken to the hospital? Did she need antitoxin shots? Or is is just like a yellowjacket-sting, or maybe a bit worse, very painful but that goes away by itself?

They are not normally bad as in sickness or death (just for the very young and very old), but a lot of pain

. Our remedy is some Tylenol, ice and a paste of baking soda and water.

And you get to watch someone beat the living crap out of the scorpion.

Oh yes, I remember scorpions from when I lived in Tucson. I had a big furry tarantula that lived on my front porch too.

I don't know whether it was diet or what - but last night's dreams were a mixed-bag of weirdness I'd rather not repeat any time soon.

I just had to have my dog put down, he was like 18 and had a stroke. My girlfriend wants to get a puppy already. but I'd feel like a complete traitor.

I remember when I had to put my dog down...I was a wreck. I had to work the next day and I just cried most of the day. My boss was very supportive and comforting though (he and I were good friends).

You shouldn't feel like a traitor, I'm sure your dog would not want you to be lonely, I understand how you feel though. We got a dog a couple of months before we put mine down because our other dog was extremely attached to mine and we were afraid of her being alone and possibly dying of heartache.

It is a very painful thing.

Yay for jeans at work today!

Dressing up is such a burden sometimes. I slide by in my khakis and burkenstocks though...you think I'm going to walk around in high heels all day? People must be crazy. I'd be a little more willing if we didn't have bugs up there. And the place was nicer. It looks like a dump and I don't know how they expect us to look and act professional in such a disgusting environment. My allergies act up so bad when I go in there. It's terrible.

And some of the people...well, I kinda yelled at them Friday. This Friday BETTER be different or I will do SOMETHING. I have no respect at all for those who want to sit around and not do their jobs, and especially talk about everyone else up there. Leave your personal issues at home. I do NOT want to hear about your sex life! And I do not appreciate everyone talking behind everyone else's back and intentionally trying to start rumors. And these are grown people. They are freaking idiots, and they are the reason that our whole shift has been punished because they aren't doing their jobs and they keep causing freaking errors! I do my best to do my job, even when I really don't want to, and I have to get punished right along with everyone else because someone (or some people) are idiots.

I'm really sick of it, by the way. Sorry guys, had to get that out...

I'm trying not to lose it on everyone. I was at the point of needing Anger Management before I left my previous job... (Is it being Scotch-Irish? Two bad tempers? I don't know...I can't tolerate stupidity and idiots.)

Well, I am quite fantastic at the moment. Although I finished exams close to two weeks ago (and what a damn intense time that was) I have been working pretty much every day since then as well, even over last weekend. So I haven't really had the motivation to log on here recently. But now I have a week off and am excited! Going out for dad's birthday tonight. Parents having a 70s themed dress-up party tomorrow night so I will hang around long enough to watch them embarrass themselves before finally getting back out to town in Wellington. Ahh... great times.

I can finally relax properly for the first time in 10 weeks ...which was arguably the most difficult 10 weeks of my life - even above basic training! Next semester will be better. I learned a lot in that time and will should pwn it. Plus I am close to finally getting my 6-pack. It is slowly finding its way out and I reckon I can coax it out in the 3 weeks before I go back up to Auckland...

I talked to someone from Wellington today.

That's the good thing about my job, I talk to people all over. Of all the countries, the Japanese people are the most amazing. Patient, sweet, they'll even just kind of talk to you. I've never had a Japanese person get the least bit impatient or upset (even if they hold on our terrible music for two minutes).

The Australians and New Zealand people are rather moody though......

I miss Germany terribly. I just returned after a month in Berlin and since then I've been wandering around like I'm lost. Can't figure out what I'm doing here. Homesick. Miss my friends. Miss the language. Miss everything. Coming home always seems to be so much harder than the departure.
