Sorry to hear that, Spiph.... might be worth looking into emigrating if you're that much happier over there
Believe me, if it wasn't for the fact that I wouldn't be able to uproot my children to another country, I'd be moving to England!

Hey, does your head really detach itself at the mouth when you talk?

Try hot tea (or even just hot water) with lots of honey, rum to taste and maybe lemon juice, too. And a bit of aspirin or tylenol. One good night with a lot of blankets to sweat the virus away and hopefully you'll be fit in the morning.

With that bad a sore throat, it's more likely a bacterial infection (strep) than a viral infection.
Lots of fluids (especially if you have a fever) and a visit to the doctor if it's still bad after a couple of days.

Well, yesterday I went for a Nuclear Stress Test. They said everything looks OK, but I'm still having a strange feeling in my chest that comes and goes. Years ago when I was in the Air Force I was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. I have always been asymptomatic, but now I think that it's starting to become more noticeable. I don't have a follow-up visit with the Cardiologist until the first week of December, so I think I'll give him a call today.
So my cardiologist told me all that I'm feeling is an extra beat, which is not that uncommon especially for people with WPW. This has been quite a bad year for my health. I had to get a chest x-ray last Friday and was told yesterday that I have bronchitis. Well, that's better than pneumonia which I was afraid I had.

Not much better. They both leave you feeling like crap. And then the antibiotic's side-effects kick in....gpackin wrote:I had to get a chest x-ray last Friday and was told yesterday that I have bronchitis. Well, that's better than pneumonia which I was afraid I had.

If it is just the extra beat you are feeling, this is nothing, I learned to live with that easier than with tinnitus, you just forget about it.gpackin wrote:So my cardiologist told me all that I'm feeling is an extra beat, which is not that uncommon especially for people with WPW. The bronchitis, well, hopefully antibiotics will get you rid of it.
But, definitely, you had a bad year.
Hold on for 5 weeks more, hopefully 2009 will be better
