Just a pun on your own post.....

I guess it would have sounded better if I had written "all players, real and otherwise". I was pretty lame, anyway. I was just in a jesting mood, at the time...

Book? Shards of Honor
What is/are xxx? Slippers
Who are Yyy and Zzz? Cordeilia Naismith, and Pilot Officer Mayhew.

Has it ever been confirmed that this is in fact Arde Mayhew who pilots the RG-6 in The Warrior's Apprentice?

A little hint, maybe?

"Oh, Xxx," Yyy sighed, "the things you have to answer for..."
"May I", Zzz began, and stopped. Surely she would not be permitted to"...

The sentence runs on but I have to stop there or I'll give it away.
Oh, and it is the Vorkosigan Universe.

I would hope so. I'd used it not too long ago as a quote for the game, but it kind of buzzed by before I had a chance to say something.

A little more.

"May I", Zzz began, and stopped. Surely Zzz would not be permitted to touch that lavish antique.

Got it! But I'm not completely sure of the spelling of the last name

Book: Falling Free
XXX: Dr. Minchenko
YYY: Madame Minchenko
Zzz: Silver

What did Dr. Minchenko have to answer for? Teaching the quaddies songs based on science instead of real music (I think it was a color nursery rhyme, but I haven't looked it up)

(The antique is Madame Minchenko's violin, btw. Took me forever to find it because I was thinking the only female thoughts we'd seen were Cordelia and Ekaterin, but then, neither one of them ever questioned their permission to do something like that.)

(Edited to correct the last name misspelling, though I was pretty close)

Correct! Congratulations! Your up.

James

Oh, it was for Dr Minchenko teaching the kids the colors of the rainbow ("Roy G Biv, Roy G Biv, he's the color quaddie that the spectrum gives..."). Wierdly enough, ever since I first read this story, I've never had problems remebering the colors in the rainbow, so THANK YOU LMB! :D

Xxx followed his glance. Three men were approaching them.
What book?
Who is Xxx?
Where does this take place?

I was going to make it longer, but it became obvious fairly quickly, unless I ended up using a lot more of the alphabet than I intended.

"Ah." Yyy pushed off from the pillar and gazed up the concourse, and raised a hand in brief greeting. "Here we go."

Xxx followed his glance. Three men were approaching them.
What book?
Who is Xxx?
What is significant about the three men?

Hint: This is from the Vorkosigan series. Miles is NOT in this scene.

YYY= Byerly
Vorbarr Sultana shuttleport
One of the three men
Spoiler: show
used to be a woman Dono/Donna, the two others his/her
Armsmen (one was Szabo).

A longer one?
God, he looks tired,YYY realized; for a split second, almost ghastly. XXX, you have much to answer for. But XXX knew that.
Italics are thoughts.
I am not clear as to why some parts are in italics and some are not. A bonus if you explain it to my satisfaction.

Anyway:
Book?
Who is YYY, who thinks the italics part?
Who is XXX?
Who is "he" (not a trick question, "he" is neither XXX nor YYY)

What XXX has to answer for... LMB took about 130 pages (in my edition) to explain it.... So I'm not asking you.

Arghhh.. I edited the first version instead of making a new one.. but does it really matter? You have to answer this one anyway now, and there is only more information, none was lost.

Ahem. The problem of editing is that it does not appear as a new post. See the longer quote in the edited psot above.

I've noticed that editing problem myself. And I recognize the quote. Am I allowed to answer yet?

Yes, you are. The editing did not change the time of the original post, so you can easily see when the 5 days exclusion was passed.
