Re: The Casual Vacancy is almost here
Though I've seen all Harry Potter films (not in a theater, but on DVD), I own only one single book, the very first one.
If I want to read and imagine - as opposed to watch - fantasy, I prefer to turn to Anne McCaffrey's dragons or Larry Niven's stories about magic and its dwindling supply of manna.
IMHO the hype around Rowling's new book is just a marketing ploy, though I wish the book success, if deserved.
But I'll casually ignore the vacancy on my bookshelf until I've read some serious reviews which may convince me otherwise.
