Bless the Beasts and Children

Bless the Bests & Children, written by Glendon Swarthout is a coming of age book where six boys are in a boys camp in Arizona. Cast out of several different cabins to unite together. When nobody else would take them in, a young teenager named Cotton did.

The group of boys often ran into trouble. Cotton was the one who usually pulled them through. He was the leader of the group. When tough times came in he’d always get them though it one way or another. When preparing to leave the camp Cotton told them, “First we get dressed, and dress warm, because it’s three thousand feet higher up there, it’ll be cold as a witches tit.

This book is very addictive because it makes you feel that you are right there with them. Although some of it seems far-fetched, it’s not hard to imagine six kids doing the things they do in this book.
